We are in the process of updating our blog, so bear with us as we dig back through the past several months...think Christmas in July!

Sowing Seeds

It's another beautiful day here, so I was able to get out and make some Mel's Mix, fill up the planters, and plant some seeds.

Here's a look at the Mel's Mix on a tarp on the patio. One part peat moss, one part compost, and one part vermiculite (which is expensive by the way).

Then I filled up the planters with the concoction.

With the help of my very own Extension Office (our great friend Emily!), I decided to plant Peas, Broccoli, Onions, and Lettuce this weekend.

Then I watered the beds and here's what it looks like now.

We'll plant more as the weeks go on - potatoes, tomatoes, chives, basil, squash, cucumbers, beans, and more!

It looks AWESOME!! It's so exciting to get going in the garden. Something about growing your own food is pretty cool!

(FYI, the deleted comment was a copy of this...I used the wrong log in info! Sorry!)
