The basement after the carpet had been ripped up. The dark areas (and most of the floor) shows where the water still is. After we got the sofa out of there (thanks Ann & Jared), Anthony tore the carpet and the pad up and put it in the garage. If I could upload the smell into a scratch and sniff, I would, just so you could get the full effect.
Here is where the carpet and pad will reside until Sunday, when we'll take it to the dump! Don't mind the piles beside the carpet...my very first garage sale is tomorrow....We have an inspector coming tomorrow, and we are both just looking forward to figuring out exactly what is wrong with the basement. We aren't looking forward to the bill, but we definitely want to get this taken care of before it gets even worse. I definitely don't want to have mold growing throughout our home, and the smell has got to go!
