And the Worst Mama Award Goes to...

ME!!!

It was an easy decision for the academy!

Yesterday I asked my friend Emily if she was going to walk up to the school to pick up her son after his first day of first grade. Since I had been gone all last week, we decided that it would be nice to catch up, and good to get a little walk in.

When I opened the garage I heard the rumbles, but convinced myself that it was just my stomach. When I glanced back over the house and noticed the ominous clouds overhead, I merely brushed it off and reminded myself that all of the warnings were north of here - so the storm must be moving north. When I felt the little drop on my shoulder, I reminded myself that it was probably just a little drop left over in the tree!

I really wanted that walk!

Emily and I justified our decision to walk, and off we went, headed the mile towards the school!

Had I listened to reason, I would have put my precious baby girl back in the house and would have reminded myself that I would be seeing my friend the next day. If I had listened to my gut, I would have at least grabbed the blanket and umbrella. But, instead, I just took off with the stroller, Isabella, and my dear friend!

We made it safely to the school, but as soon as the bell rang and the kids began pouring out of the building, the rain began. There was lightening and thunder all around us. Needless to say, it was a fast walk back home. Emily and I agreed that we were making memories, and, because our little ones made it home safe and sound, just slightly wet, that it was worth it!

Isabella was such a trooper! She didn't mind the rain, wind, and thunder at all. She only got irritated when her hat was covering her eyes and she could no longer see the streaks of rain flying towards her.

All in all, we dried off in a little over a half hour, and made a memory!

My poor grandbabies! First it's Madalyn stroling in a thunderstrom now it's Isabella. Oh my, what is a grandma to do?! I pray! And I thank God that my granddaughters have such wonderful mommies.

Is that stroller by chance a Metro-lite?? We have the same one - good choice! I don't think you OR Emily are bad mommies.:) Don't we all need a little excitement in our lives?

Memories it is! They survived! Is it bad that I would do it again?

I guess Emily and I just felt left out that we didn't get to experience the excitement on Sunday at the church picnic, so we felt the need to recreate it for ourselves!!!

Our stroller is indeed the Metro-Lite! We got that one because EVERYONE I know had one and they all loved it! I have to admit that I'm really glad we chose it, and would recommend it to anyone!

And, I would do it again in a heartbeat - but I'd bring my umbrella this time!
