The sign of a real big girl is that she takes swimming lessons.
Therefore, we have a real big girl living at our house. Isabella started swimming lessons on Tuesday morning. She will go twice a week throughout the month of June, for about 25 minutes each session. There are 4 kids in her class, and we love her teacher, Miss Emily.
The only prerequisite for Isabella's class was that she be willing to get in the water. I would be lying if I said that I didn't have my doubts about this. But, much to my surprise, Isabella was the first in her class to cautiously brave the water!
Tuesday was a skills day where Miss Emily was seeing what each child could do and what they were willing to try. This was the ongoing conversation between Isabella and Miss Emily:
Miss Emily: "Isabella, can you put your ear in the water?"
Isabella: "No."
Miss Emily: "Put your ear in the water."
Isabella: "I don't want to."
Miss Emily: "Try to put your ear in the water."
Isabella: "Okay." And she put her ear in the water.
Miss Emily: "Good job! Can you put your forehead in the water?"
Isabella: "No."
Miss Emily: "Put your forehead in the water."
Isabella: "I don't want to."
Miss Emily: "Try to put your forehead in the water."
Isabella: "Okay." And she put her forehead in the water.
This went on and on...
All in all, Isabella had a lot of fun. She even jumped in at the end of the lesson and her whole head went in. She didn't love that, but she did it, and as far as I know, she's excited about tomorrow.

So cute! We start swimming lessons next week for 2 of the 3. I love the way she just wants to make sure they know she doesn't want to first, but then goes ahead and gets it done.
