6 Months

It's so hard to believe that it's been six months since Catherine was born. It doesn't seem possible that she is half way to her birthday already! She's still a tiny peanut. She remains in the 3rd percentile for both weight and height, but our doctor assures us that she "owns" those percentages. Translation: She's just petite. She is perfectly proportioned which means there is no need for concern.

I really love this age! She has started sitting up independently, which is huge! She not only feels like such a big girl, but she is able to play by herself a little more. Plus, the big girls are able to "play" with her. Now we just have to be extra careful watching the big girls. They are way into beads, necklaces, and earrings - all items that Miss Catherine is not allowed to play with. And, it seems the only time the girls will share these treasures is when they want to give them to Catherine.

Although she is not rolling over yet, I think she could. However, she HATES being on her tummy. Therefore, rolling from ones back to her tummy would not be high on her list of "to-dos". She can roll from her tummy to her back, especially when she gets angry enough!

Right now Catherine is sitting in her Activity Saucer. This is a new like of hers. She is starting to jump in there and pull on the toys that surround her. She squeals with delight when one of the toys starts playing music.

Another favorite of this sweet girl is her swing! It has been a life-saver on more than one account. Often times this wonderful tool will lull this little one to sleep, allowing me the time to get a quick shower.

It's amazing how different my two little girls are. Isabella has always been reserved. We had to really earn smiles from her. And, she has never been to fond of new people. It takes her a good 10 -15 minutes to warm up to someone new. Catherine, on the other hand, is full of smiles! Her legs are constantly kicking with delight. She'll fall in love with anyone who will hold her. And I have a feeling she'll be our risk-taker. We'll have to rely on our aunties and uncles to take her out for the "fun stuff" that Anthony and I are too cautious to try!
